Office Hours

Our regular office hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. We allow walk-ins and will gladly fit you in as best we can to see the doctor in the day’s workflow. We highly recommend making an appointment in advance to guarantee the time you need for your visit with the doctor.

If for any reason you are unable to keep an appointment we ask that you please provide 24 hours notice of cancellation. We will be happy to reschedule another time that will work for you.

Your Visit

We welcome new patients and request they complete a Patient Intake Form. We encourage patients to bring their spouse or a family member. If it is your first visit to the office you will be taken to the consult / exam room for a hearing test. Following your exam the doctor will review the test results with you and answer any questions or concerns you may have. The doctor will propose options for treatment when warranted and may refer out to a physician when necessary.

Should the doctor prescribe and recommend modern hearing devices, they have many functions and need to be fitted by a professional and adjusted in person. Rancho Santa Fe Audiology offers a wide range of hearing aids to suit your prescription, lifestyle assessment needs and your budget.

Fees and Insurance

If you have insurance and would like us to check your coverage, we would be happy to do this as a courtesy upon presenting your health insurance card(s) to our office staff.

We recognize the need for a definite understanding between the patient and his or her doctor regarding financial arrangement for medical care. Rancho Santa Fe Audiology has established fees for FDA approved hearing aids and professional services for our patients. The responsibility for payment of these fees is the direct obligation of the patient. The exception is for those cases where the patient’s insurance provider has signed a contract with our office.

Rancho Santa Fe Audiology is contracted with many insurance carriers and we are happy to file an insurance claim on your behalf . Hearing devices will be billed at manufacturer’s suggested price to guarantee maximum reimbursement. If we are a contracted provider with an insurance carrier we are obligated to provide a hearing aid for the determined “allowed amount”. If a requested hearing aid’s cost is higher than this it is the patient’s responsibility to pay the difference. Insurance plans vary widely and patients are urged to familiarize themselves with the coverage and terms of their plan. For any questions, please do not hesitate to call our office at 858-759-8922.

While our office will take care of filing the claim for patients covered by Medicare, we would require that the Medicare charge be paid at the time of the visit. You will receive the reimbursement directly from Medicare. Most patients like to take charge of filing their own claim directly with Medicare by using claim form CMS 1490-S.

If your insurance plan does not cover audiology or hearing aid benefits, do not worry as we are happy to offer our patients the affordable alternative of a payment plan through Care Credit.  Visit Care Credit to apply or call them at 866-853-8432.
